Established in 1990, Emfit is the leading manufacturer of quasi -piezoelectric ferroelectret film. The material is high-pressure gas-expended, biaxially oriented, and charged in a very high electric field. Compared to piezoelectric PVDF film, Emfit's material is very sensitive to sense force changes in thickness mode. We supply our innovative, durable, low-cost sensors and material for OEMs in various fields.

Our own whole product development focus has been sensing sleep. We are the world pioneer in the renaissance of ballistocardiography and the leading manufacturer of contact-free sleep sensor devices that apply this technology. The first scientific publication of our manufactured sensors dates back to 1993, and since then there have been over 100 research publications on Emfit’s film and sensor technology. We are proud to collaborate with a number of world-famous universities and research organizations, focusing not only on ballistocardiography but also on other types of sensing of vibrations and forces, including acoustics and ultrasound.

 

Emfit the company is made up of a small, but extremely motivated team of 20 highly-talented individuals with diverse backgrounds. We all share a passion for what we do. Initially, we focused on our material research and manufacturing development. In 1996 began to develop and market our sensors and electronics. The first applications were acoustic guitar pickups and preamps, and bed exit alarms for elderly care.  In 2004 we introduced the first-generation vital signs monitor, which has since evolved into today's EMFIT QS (quantified sleep). It is an IoT sleep-sensing solution, the most comprehensive on the market. Emfit QS provides contact-free measuring of not only heart and breathing rates, sleep classes, and movement activity, but most importantly whole night heart-rate variability. Today Emfit QS users are a wide variety of people, including an increasing number of athletes and active-lifestyle people interested in sleep and recovery.

 

Our proprietary sensor technology enables durable and discreet sensor placement even under a very thick mattress. The whole solution is based on accurate, real-time embedded signal acquisition, Wi-Fi or cellular data transmission, and cloud software solution, and thus ensures autonomous and automatic operation.

Emfit QS has an increasing base of private, business, and research users who are interested in sleep and recovery. For many, one of the key values is our APIs, especially the band-pass-filtered ballistocardiography signal at a high sampling rate.
